So here we are at the end of the weekend (actually the beginning of next week) and I did nothing to advance the site. Nothing. Most of it can be blamed on the fact that I was having an excellent time with Kate celebrating our 1 year, but it can also be blamed on the fact that I’m lazy. At some point last week I started creating a header graphic and if you can access this site now you can see it, but obviously it’s not done. I’m getting more and more to the point where I just need to get something simple up and done and let content be the driving force of the site. My problem is that I’ll see other sites/blogs and how cool they look and then I’ll want to emulate them. Also most of the time I’ll be at work when I think to do something to my site, but being at work I have a hard time doing any ftp work or graphic design which are the 2 biggest things I need to work on in order make any progress on the design. So I just post when no one can read. Sigh…
Oh yea, and that part about me upoading new pictures didn’t happen either and that was supposed to happen a week ago. Looking at my server statistics my readerbase has gone down by 4 readers average from the previous average of 2 readers… I’m not entirely sure how thats possible but aparently since I’ve stopped posting negative 2 readers are viewing my site. AWESOME!

SI Swimsuit comes out tomorrow (along with Valentine’s Day…. hmmmm..) which usually signifies the low point of the sports season, but this is not to be so. The Ohio State Men’s (and women’s) basketball team are kicking major ass and I had totally forgotten about the Winter Olympics. Is it wrong for me to think that USA should win every gold medal and Russia and China should be automatically disqualified for being communist? (Currently we lead with 4 gold) USA! USA! USA!

Kate and I are having our 1 year anniversary this weekend. Go us!

Got my fantasy baseball league invite today. I’m pumped.

I think I’m going to stop posting here for the next week or so just to force me to get the new blog up and running. When I say new blog I actually mean just get everything here transferred over to WordPress and designed the way I want it. I will be posting updates there, but you probably won’t see them until the site is live (unless you investigate/dig around)

To keep you occupied until then I will be posting my pics from CES and Vegas later tonight and hopefully updates to those (from my Dad) at some point this week once I get them from him. (You’d think it this day and age of technology and data transfer it wouldn’t be that hard for him to get some digital media to me)

isn’t it strange that a blogger’s spellcheck database doesn’t have the word blog

So I meant to make a post late last week after we went and saw Underworld Evolution. But it kept getting put off and I’ve actually been busy at work so I have really not had time to waste there. Then the weekend came and I totally forgot the senior bowl was on AND the Buckeye’s were playing Iowa (and lost ). Sunday I was just lazy and here we are in the waning hours of Monday. I had a lot to talk about, but stuff just kept putting it off.

Going on my first ever business trip this week. It’s just a one night deal down to Lexington, KY but in any case it’s a milestone in my life as a businessman. I’m very anxious how it will go since I’m going with my boss and my boss’s boss. It will be quite the car ride down. I’ll give you a full report upon my return.

Anyway, that’s all I have for now. Above all I really wanted to get some stuff done in the pictures arena of the site this weekend but like I said earlier, nothing happened.

To procrastination!

Christmas was good. We didn’t go anywhere or see any extended family so it wasn’t anything to put on the top ten list. Also for a first we didn’t open presents till past noon. Sleeping in and then going to church at 10:30 kind of cut into the whole morning of presents thing. Strangly I didn’t seem to mind too much. Got some good stash including a new stereo for my car (Thanks mom & dad).

I plan on photo journaling our whole trip especially the Great Drive out there. Expect loads of pictures when I return.

Did I mention I own a 360

I was driving around getting lunch today, listening to ESPN Radio, and this commercial comes on. It has a man and a woman talking and the man is speaking about a concern of his. Apparently he is worried that his son is not going to be tall. The woman then proceeds to advise him of this product called Height-Grow that will help his child grow to his full potential AND with no prescription! The man is amazed and the ad goes on to give specifics of Height-Grow. They say it is an all natural supplement for people ages 12-20 and will help the increase how tall they will grow.

I mean come on. I can’t believe they didn’t even throw a guarantee at the end saying “guaranteed you child will grow taller or your money back”. What child is not getting taller aged 12-20. 2nd, since when did we become a nation that idolizes tall people. I’m considered tall, but I haven’t noticed ever getting special or better treatment from anyone. If anything I have to do more work to unscrew lightbulbs and reach things way up high. Finally, if this stuff even works, what does it do for kids who don’t hit their growth spurt till late in the teenage years. I was below average height until I was a Junior in HS. If my parents fed me this stuff when I was 12, I could have been one massively tall freak.

-Just wanted to comment on that.

–with any luck and blessing from the shipping gods I will have a 360 tomorrow.

Only one more week of work andthe Christmas Holiday begins. Now seeing as this is my first Christmastime as a full time employee, I was a little worried about how much time I would be able to have off compared to that of an OSU student. Well fortunately my boss is super cool and I’ll be taking both the last week of this year and the first week of next year off. What will I be doing that whole time you ask? Quite the journey.

It started about a month back when my dad told me that he would be going to CES with my uncle this year. For those of you that don’t know what CES is, is its pretty much nerd heaven for grown-ups. CES stands for Consumer Electronic Show and they pretty much have all the cool gadgets gizmos and tech toys that’ll be coming out in the near future. When I found out my dad was going I must say it was the first time in my life that I was 100% jealous of something my dad was getting to do. Short story short… my uncle caught wind of my interest in going and got me an invite. So for January 5th-7th I will be in Las Vegas NV at CES 2006. w00t!

That leads us to a few weeks ago when bowl announcements came out. Ohio State going to the Fiesta bowl (6 hours from LasVegas) and USC going to the Rose Bowl (4 hours from LasVegas). My mind started processing the possibility of me going to both these HUGE bowl games as well as getting to go to Las Vegas. My dad came through and was able to get tickets for the Fiesta Bowl but unfortunately tickets to the Rose bowl are like trying to get tickets to see the second coming so that doesn’t look like it’ll happen. But still, 2 badass things out of 3 is not bad. Getting to Arizona and back is a story for another post in the near future. Stay tuned.

Still no Xbox360 >:(

Yea, so no Xbox360 for me. Went to WalMart yesterday at lunch, just to see what the status was and all 14 spots for xboxs were taken. People were already waiting 12 hours in advance. Next door at BestBuy, people were waiting outside when the system wasn’t going to be available to them for another 30 hours. Bree and I checked out some Meijer’s around 8PM later that night thinking no one would check Meijer’s for a new game system. Wrong. People had been waiting there since 11 and 4 AM! One of the saddest things was that most the people waiting really should not be dropping $400 on a gaming system when they don’t have money to get their teeth fixed. Pretty much, at 8PM yesterday, if you didn’t have a pre-order or spot in line, you were not getting a new Xbox in Columbus, OH.

Anyway, hopefully I’ll be able to grab a system sometime in the next 2 weeks. Word on the street is it’s pretty badass.
