Boy, it has been a while since I’ve updated hasn’t it. I apologize. Quite a bit has happened in the last week. Let me re-cap.
Last Monday was my 24th birthday. My birthday always falls sometime either before, during or after finals week for OSU so it’s always a strange time to try and plan some celebration. This year it fell right at the beginning of finals week. A group of us wen to Don Pablo’s and then Brazenhead after. Good Times. Nothing too rowdy, but it’s always fun to hang out with friends. This is my first birthday being out of school and I don’t know how most families treat gifts and what not, but with me finally being out of school and on my own, most of my extended family decided to drop the yearly brithday gift giving which felt a little strange. Birthdays for me really seem to emphasize stages in life. The types of gifts you get, who gives them to you, how you celebrate your birthday - they all seeem to reflect where you are in your life. I can remember my 2nd birthday in college getting all sorts of kitchen appliances, etc. and thinking I had a pretty good birthday. My 17 year old self would think it would be horrible stash, but the young adult moving into an apartment thought it was great. At any matter, I’m getting older :P
On Thursday we had a small celebration for those graduating this weekend. Bree’s parents flew in from Texas and we tapped the keg of beer Bree had been making for the past few weeks. It was supposed to be a Guinness tasting beer, but ending up something more like an Ale or Amber. Still, it was very good. Thursday was also the start of the NCAA tournament. The TV I have can be split to show 2 pictures at once, which was very cool since our house is receiveing 5 channels of CBS each showing a different basketball game. It was a lot of fun and kept me more interested in the tournament than I otherwise would have been.
Friday was more of the same except for the fact that it was St. Patty’s day! I took off work, just because, and watched Ohio State and a few of the other games. We headed to Brazenhead around 4:30 with our Jersey’s on but once we got there decided to stay only for a short while. The place was madness and in order to keep up with basic econimcs the beer was even more than normal. It’s kind of weird when you go to a place you love and don’t have a good time. There was something that happened that made the whole trip worth it. I got to see Nick Mangold in person. NICK MANGOLD!! He bumped into me! Needless to say, it was freakin’ sweet.
Saturday and Sunday was even more basketball and general chillin. Saturday Bree, Mike and I went and saw V for Vendetta. Whatever rating scale we decide to go on here at timjanderson.com V gettings the full ranking. 10/10. This movie is quality and I’m glad to see that comic book to film translations haven’t gone the way of the buffalo…. yet. The Buckeye’s lost horribly to Georgetown yesterday which is sadening. Even more sadening is the fact that no Big 10 teams are left in the tournament which really drops my interest in it overall. I’ll still tune in to check on the teams, but with my bracket being toast and no Big 10 teams left to play…. meh
That brings us up to date. This week should be filled with gaming releases, so I hope to make a post tomorrow or Wednesday on what I’ve been playing and what I will be playing. Unfortunetly I didn’t have my camera with me at any of the events in this post so no new picture updates.
